Urban training sessions

Interactive training sessions

We offer training sessions for local and national governments, NGOs, migrant and refugee associations, international organisations, humanitarian actors and research institutes. In the past we have designed training sessions and roundtables with and for African local and national governments, African migrant and refugee-led associations, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), UN Habitat, the Mixed Migration Centre (MMC), the International Rescue Committee (ICR), the University of Oxford, Sciences Po Paris, the University of Lagos, the United Nations University (UNU-CRIS) and many more.

Training sessions for on the ground change-makers

Training sessions for actors interested in engaging hands-on in migration governance with African intermediary cities focus on peer-learning, building multi-stakeholder partnerships, constructing multi-level networks and accessing international funding. Trainings are co-organised in partnership with local authorities, NGOs and migrant/refugee associations and take place in person or online. If you represent a local or national government, NGO, migrant or refugee association, international organisation or humanitarian actor and are interested in participating and contributing to future interactive training sessions, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Training sessions for co-creation researchers

In addition, we offer trainings for actors seeking to develop or expand impact oriented migration research with African local actors. These training sessions focus first and foremost on co-developing research projects with actors experiencing migration, displacement or climate mobility as well as the impacts of migration policy making. Furthermore, the training sessions zoom in on making effective use of urban system mapping, using research results to design interactive partnership labs and identifying local, national or international windows of opportunity for knowledge to contribute to policy change. If you represent a think tank, research institute or other organisation interested in impact-oriented research and would like to participate and contribute to an interactive training, we would love to hear from you!
